PEI Seniors Homes requires a full time LPN.  The Licensed Practical Nurse will be expected to maintain open, effective communication between facility, clients / patients, physicians, treatment teams and nurses to ensure their effective completion of job duties.  Successful candidates will have a current LPN license and the ability to work a variety of 8hr shifts in a 24hr facility.

WARD CLERK – closing June 25, 2011

PEI Seniors Homes requires an energetic, motivated and career-minded Ward Clerk to be involved with the administration of an efficient and effective electronic and paper based health information, and will help determine the most appropriate storage methods for medical records.  Other responsibilities will include the enforcement of records management policies, the set-up, maintenance and review of records systems, implementation of retention and disposal schedules, and the standardization of information resources.

 RESIDENT CARE COORDINATOR – closing June 25, 2011

PEI Seniors Homes requires a full-time Resident Care Coordinator to create and maintain individualized resident care plans.  He/she will coordinate and participate in resident care conferences, and ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times. He/she will be challenged to identify and respond to residents’ on-going normal aging changes, chronic conditions, as well as acute problems as they arise.

Island Health Training Company

The Island Health Training Company, an arm of PEI Seniors Homes, provides initial training to RCWs (Resident Care Workers) to work in one of the PEI Seniors Homes. For these Geriatric Caregivers, no experience is necessary. We provide a 3 week orientation training program.

UPEI Scholarships

PEI Seniors Homes also supports the Nursing Program at UPEI through the Garden Home Scholorship for first year students and the Whisperwood Villa Scholarship for fourth year nursing students.
