GARDEN HOME
Mission Statement
Garden Home is a community of caring people whose concern is the provision of quality nursing care in a home like atmosphere, while providing recreational, social and spiritual programs to meet the needs of the individual. Each resident, employee and volunteer is treated with respect, dignity and uniqueness. This is achieved through a nurturing framework in every aspect of Garden Home.
Accommodations
The Home accommodates 117 nursing home beds in a one level facility. Our rooms are private or semi-private.
All rooms are equipped with one bathroom and a closet for each resident. Basic furnishings are provided for each room including: a bed, dresser, bedside table, closet and chairs. The Home also provides all linens and towels for each resident.
If at the time of admission the desired level of accommodation is unavailable, the resident will be accommodated in the first available room. The resident will be placed on the desired accommodation list.
Admission
The Department of Health requires assessment and approval for nursing home placement. This coordinated entry system can be accessed by contacting Queen’s Region Placement Committee or Garden Home’s Director of Care prior to admission. The Queen’s Region Placement Officer can be reached at 368-6803.
Room Rates
Nursing Home daily rates (per diem) are as approved by the Government and management of Garden Home. Private and semi-private rooms are available; rates will vary depending on the type of room. Government per diem rates do not allow for the additional cost of a private room at Garden Home.

The care of each resident is provided under the diligent supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Home provides nursing care services under the support of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Resident Care Workers on a 24-hour basis. Our nursing staff, while assisting residents with all their daily care needs, provide a stable and secure environment. Garden Home strives to ensure a chemical and physical restraint free environment.
